Mr Irving genuinely listened to what my wife and I had to say about my condition ( it affects us both)-- its history and, importantly, our CONCERNS. We felt he "really" understood them. Without making us feel rushed he then discussed what was happening and why, with easy to understand diagrams, giving us plenty of time to ask questions which he patiently answered in "non medical" language. Mr Irving then gave us the surgical options, in a way we understood, addressing all our concerns in a personalised way. We came away from the consultation feeling that we were NOT "just-another-patient" and as a result we now feel confident and reassured about following the treatment pathway under his care.

The conversation I had with Mr Irving in my consultation was very much a dialogue; he discussed my options very thoroughly, and wanted to hear my thoughts. During my examination he told me exactly what he was doing and what was going on that necessitated my upcoming procedure, and I felt at ease the entire time. He told me why I had had no success previously in my treatments and was sure to tell me of all the pros and cons of each surgical and non-surgical treatment option. I would have no difficulty in returning to Mr Irving for any other future issues.

My first meeting with Mr Irving was most informative and set me on a course of action to cure my problems. I have great confidence in Mr Irving. He explained, in layman's terms, what my problem is and the various methods he can use use to help me.

Having never seen Mr Irving before, I attended my appointment and he instantly made me feel very relaxed. Mr Irving was professional throughout my appointment and made me feel really comfortable. Mr Irving spoke with me prior to examination, gaining knowledge of my background/health. He talked me through what would happen when examining me prior to the examination. During the examination he continued to make sure I was comfortable and reminded me to let him know if I needed him to stop. My privacy and dignity was maintained throughout. After the examination, Mr Irving went through all possible options with me of what he thought the problem could be. Lots of reassurance was given to me and possible outcomes. Further scans & bloods were requested and I had my bloods taken on the same day. I left this appointment feeling satisfied and reassured.
